Materiality
In its Long-Term Vision 2030, ES-CON JAPAN Group has set two axes, "Deepening" and "Evolution," as key themes for sustainability management and identified five material issues.

Identification Process
ES-CON JAPAN Group identified materiality through three steps.
-
Step 01Identifying key issues related to ES-CON JAPAN business activities
With reference to international frameworks (ISO26000, GRI Standards, etc.) and the materiality of our parent company, Chubu Electric Power, and taking into account the recognition of issues at workshops for general managers, we extracted 74 priority issue elements for ES-CON JAPAN Ltd..
-
Step 02Materiality assessment
Members selected from each department then evaluate the importance of the extracted priority issue elements from the perspectives of both "importance to ES-CON JAPAN Ltd." and "importance to stakeholders," and sort and organize the priority issues.
-
Step 03Validation
Priority issues are reviewed for validity internally based on exchanges of opinions with stakeholders (parent company, financial institutions, etc.) and resolved after discussion at the Board Director meeting.
Promotion Structure
In order to strengthen our system for promoting sustainability and clarify management involvement, ES-CON JAPAN established Sustainability Promotion Committee in April 2025.
The committee is chaired by President and Representative Director and is composed of committee members appointed by the chairman and observers such as full-time Auditor. In addition, three subcommittees, the "Environment Subcommittee," "Social Subcommittee," and "Human Rights Subcommittee," have been established as subordinate organizations of the committee to discuss and consider specific initiatives based on the Basic Sustainability Policy. The Sustainability Promotion Department, which has been the core of sustainability management, serves as the secretariat and operates the committee, ensuring that activities maintain continuity with previous initiatives.
The details of Sustainability Promotion Committee deliberations are reported to the Director of Director, which then reviews and oversees them, thereby ensuring the effectiveness of the promotion of sustainability management.
Additionally, we cooperate with other departments and organizations, such as the Risk Management Committee, as appropriate on matters that involve them, and work together to promote sustainability management.
